The goal of the Essex Art League is to support the appreciation and creation of art among artists and within Chittenden county. Members meet monthly to share ideas and information, create and implement programs, and participate in show venues. Programs and events have included Artist's Workshops, Group visits to Shelburne Museum, Lake Champlain Celebration at the Phoenix Bookstore, Open Studio Group Show at the Essex Junction Community Center, Old Red Mill Show in Jericho, and the Harvest Market in Jericho. Members are encouraged to exhibit their work at several locations, including Essex Town Offices and local libraries. 

The league meets the first Thursday of the month, from 9:00 – 11:00 am, at the Essex  Junction Congregational Church on Main Street.  The meeting agenda includes business, social time, and a guest artist presentation.  A yearly calendar of meetings is published. The Essex Art League elects officers each May.
