Although I have studied watercolors, acrylics and oils, I prefer the pastel medium. Its forgiving qualities have enabled me to make progress without being too intimidated. Discovering the use of different pressures, strokes and layers has been a wonderful learning process. Exploring art at this stage in my life has opened many doors. I am drawn particularly to abstract landscapes, and my current goal is to develop the techniques that will gradually enable me to produce abstract work.
Bio
I grew up in a family surrounded by fine art. My father spent his lifetime collecting paintings of many different cultures, particularly Japanese prints. His love of art and devotion to his own watercolor studies led me to explore painting after a long career as a musician and French teacher in the Brattleboro area. I now live near Burlington.
