Berta Frank

Fabric Artist - quilts, wallhangings & landscape felts

My journey into the arts began as a professional musician. My strongest passion now is fiber arts, both quilting and needle felting. My background in music directly informs my fabric practice. Repetition, variation, and rhythm guide both how I work and how the work is experienced. Like musical structures, quilt patterns establish order while allowing space for improvisation and expressive deviation. This balance between discipline and freedom is central to my process.

Bio

Originally from NYC, as an artist I strive for excellence in expression and

construction. Living in Vermont for the past 3 decades has given me the freedom and inspiration to further my artistic endeavors. My fiber compositions suggest imagined places, where colors shift, patterns interact, and fi ber changes character through proximity. I am interested in how comfort, tension, and curiosity can coexist within carefully constructed systems made from simple shapes, suggested forms from nature, or colorful precise corners.
