September 1st - Digital Painting with Corliss Blakely: Established artist and seventh generation Vermonter, Corliss Blakely paints still-life and Vermont landscape in a classically realistic style. She received her formal art training in Boston. While there she studied at Vesper George Art School and The Museum School Of Fine Art. She will demonstrate how she took her love of painting with brushes and canvas to painting digitally on the iPhone and iPad as her new canvas. http://ipadpaintings.com/ipad_paintings/Home.html

September 19th - Evening Presentation at the Brownell Library with Jane Neroni from 7 to 8:30 pm. Jane is a painter and freelance illustrator with an extensive background in art education. The primary focus of her work is the landscape, which serves as the subject of her sketchbook and her “plein air” oil paintings. Jane will demonstrate the art of Plein air Painting in the Fall.

October 6th - Memory, Mark Making and Shape Consciouness - Drawing What You See with Michael Strauss: He is an artist who lives in South Burlington and he paints in watercolor and oil. He also teaches chemistry, general science, educational pedagogy and drawing classes at the University of Vermont. http://www.mjstrauss.com/

November 3rd - Composition with Eric Tobin: Eric Tobin is a highly regarded and heavily collected landscape painter from Vermont. His style and subject matter have a universal appeal, primarily because of his unique ability to capture the beauty of the moment, the light, and the setting. December 1st - Christmas Potluck Luncheon: Our pot luck luncheon is always a fun event! This is where we spend more time getting to know each other, mentoring, and networking. We exchange a small secret Santa gift and provide 5 artistic cards for Meals on Wheels. Come and enjoy a relaxing and great meal with the Essex Art League members.
January 5th - Sharing Individual Artwork and Optional Critique: We don’t usually get a chance to see the art we’re all doing! Bring a couple of pieces, either finished or in progress. We’ll get into small groups to share. Tell us if you’d like comments and/or suggestions.

February 2nd - Photography Presentation by Ken Morris: Ken is an avid photographer residing in Underhill. He will talk about composing a photo and how he does his awesome water reflection effect still lifes. Ken will set up a still life to photo and answer questions.

March 1st - "IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL" by Hattie Seville: Hattie has been immersed in miniature painting for many years. Her "small" presentation will showcase techniques she's learned along the way, followed by a hands-on group exercise which will hopefully inspire us to enter something in the Spring "Miniatures" show.

April 5th - Interactive Fabric Painting by Artist Mary Hill: Vermont Artist Mary Hill will share her creative journey over the last 30 years as printmaker, muralist, fabric designer, writer/journal keeper, painter, and teacher. Business successes and challenges will be discussed. Questions are welcome! We will all create our own small banners. Black canvas and limited paints will be provided. May 3rd-Annual Meeting and Panel of EAL Members: "Preparing for Juried Shows": "How do you write an Artist's Statement or Biography?", "What are jurists looking for?", "How do you prepare your art for the show?". What would you like to know?
